18 Dec Welcome to the Autumn newsletter
Our very popular Vintage Tea Time has evolved into a Winter Brunch. Running since February of this year, it was designed to provide a welcoming environment with a high quality afternoon tea at no cost and the chance to enjoy some company for older people who would otherwise spend Sunday afternoons alone.
Feedback from our guests shows that they are reluctant to be out after dark during the winter, so Brunch is held between 12.00 and 2.00 pm.
In October, 14 of us enjoyed a sausage casserole with crusty bread, (vegetarian and gluten free options always available) a lovely cheeseboard and we followed this with warm mince pies and tea and coffee.

In other news…
We have recently conducted a survey of our Sharel users and our team, our café refreshments and our prices were all rated excellent or very good. Why don’t you come along and see for yourselves? Click here to download the survey results.
In the last quarter we have helped and supported 125 people, some with very complex needs and we offer support in the short or longer term. Some examples of the things we help with are people fleeing domestic violence, health issues, bereavement support, accessing unclaimed state benefits and housing issues. Nobody is ever turned away.
Our Christmas appeal is underway. We make up Christmas parcels for those most in need in our community and can accept festive food such as biscuits, tins, toiletries, toys, books or games for the children until the end of November 2017. If you would like to donate some items, please drop them off at Sharel.
Our Christmas and New Year closure dates at Sharel are from Saturday 16 December 2017, re-opening on 9 January 2018. (There is an emergency number for clients seeking food bank parcels during this period.)
Our Winter newsletter will be issued in January 2018.
All the team at Sharel wish you all a Happy and Blessed Christmas.
